What explains high levels of food insecurity in Australia?

Using data from the Taking the Pulse of the Nation (TTPN) survey in Australia, this report found that young adults and women are experiencing higher levels food insecurity. (1)

“The incidence of financial stress is greatest among younger Australians aged 18-44. Whereas 26.8 percent of 18-44-year-olds are making ends meet or worse, [and] 14.8 percent of those 45 and over report the same.”
