Karnali Bose
Acting Head of FIAP
Karnali is a dedicated social impact professional with 14+ years of experience in program/project management and strategy development across the financial and not-for-profit sectors in India and Australia. She is adept at designing and implementing projects which facilitate social outcomes through multi stakeholder engagement.
Since joining the Financial Inclusion Action Plan (FIAP) program in March 2017, Karnali has been engaging with organisations across multiple sectors to enable them to better understand the complex societal challenges and commit to business practices which enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of their stakeholders and the communities in which they operate. She is currently leading the program with strategic oversight of the national FIAP network as well as the place-based FIAP projects in Geelong, Victoria and Northern Adelaide, SA which are focused on addressing regional challenges in collaboration with local organisations.
Karnali holds a Master of Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), India and is a Certified Expert in Microfinance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Germany.
Michelle Hasani
FIAP Program Lead (Place-based / National)
Michelle Hasani has a diverse background with over 25 years’ experience working with vulnerable populations in areas including homelessness, education, and mental health, through this work she has developed a strong understanding of the resilience of people in times of great adversity and the need for systems and strategies that support the overall wellbeing of the community.
Michelle has extensive knowledge and experience and relevant qualifications in stakeholder engagement, community development, project management, leadership, coaching and business development.
Michelle joined the team in August 2021 and leads the place-based Financial Inclusion Action Plan program.
Why FIAP? I am committed to putting Health and Wellness on the agenda. Financial Wellbeing and Resilience impact all aspects of an individual’s physical, emotional and mental health. Financial wellbeing is everyone’s business, and the FIAP program is a great vehicle to support and develop organisation and community understanding and to develop action to positively impact the Australian community.

Jim Cail
FIAP Program Facilitator (Geelong)
Jim has worked within community sport with both the Australian Football League and Golf Management Australia for over 14 years, including a short stint at the Cotton On Foundation. More recently he has worked with the Bendigo Bank within their community development function and their retail banking division. Jim’s strengths include community development, governance, strategy, sales and growth, along with stakeholder management and engagement
Jim joined the FIAP team on the 13th July 2022.
Why FIAP? “I’m passionate about supporting and empowering local people to make local decisions in the best interest of their local community. Having local people taking ownership over their future and the prosperity of their community can drive hugely positive change….

Anne Barrow
FIAP Membership Co-ordinator
Having been a project manager for most of her career, tasked to find creative solutions and bring teams together, Anne is excited to work as the Membership Co-ordinator for FIAP. She loves to write, design with Adobe, and conjure life from data in Excel. She started at Good Shepherd in 2019 at Abbotsford in Melbourne and took a long work hiatus to finish her science degree in nutrition and sport science, and moved to Adelaide. Working sporadically with the Social Policy team she developed a deep appreciation for financial capability and its determinants as illuminated by research.
